AtomicDispatch:
Efficient Attachment Delivery
Delivery of emails with large attachments to multiple recipients places
significant demands on mail system storage and bandwidth. AtomicDispatch
controls these disk storage and bandwidth demands by creating a "single
instance" store of the large email attachments and delivering
a "link" to the recipients instead.
AtomicDispatch intercepts mail before the mail router, reviewing
it against pre-established rules, and re-routing to the Atomic "single
instance" storage server. Recipients, who choose to retrieve
the attachments, would click on the Notes, or URL, link in the email
message and are immediately brought to the attachments. When the
attachment is retrieved by the recipient, a log of the receipt is
maintained. AtomicDispatch keeps mail users in their mail UI - whether
it be the Notes Client, the web client, or iNotes.
