Ecosystem

FinOps is more than a technology solution. It is a way of maximizing the value of cloud in an organization. Technology certainly helps solve problems like cost visibility, allocation, and optimization, but the shift to FinOps is even more a cultural one that brings changes to the way that traditional business functions need to account for, request, and manage technology costs.

As the Fin Ops journey for individual organizations is one of transformation and integration, so it is for the industry as a whole. It takes an ecosystem of players to be successful. Exivity recognizes this fact, lives a philosophy of openness, and engages in the development of an ecosystem across industry communities, technology partners, and transformation partners.

Industry communities

FinOps Foundation

In any new technology evolution or movement, people come together to find a common vocabulary of the problem space, common solutions to recurring challenges, best practices, and foster networking.

The preeminent organization for the FinOps movement is the FinOps Foundation, since 2020 a part of the Linux Foundation, and now with more than 16,000 individual members, representing more than 5000 organizations. Exivity is a proud General Member of the FinOps Foundation.

Apart from working out a framework of standardized terms and operations, the FinOps Foundation offers certifications for individuals, organizations, and technology platforms. Several Exivity team members are FinOps Certified Practitioners or FinOps Certified Professionals.

The Exivity software is a FinOps Certified Platform. This means that the FinOps Foundation vouches that a number of use cases can be rolled out quickly across an organization, and that a series of organizational and technical requirements are met.

Technology Partners

Ease of integration of tools and processes in an infrastructure and organization is a key success factor. Therefore, Exivity provides open interfaces to allow integration into any existing infrastructure. In addition, Exivity works with selected technology partners on even tighter alignment.

Morpheus

Multicloud management with Morpheus offers (internal and external) IT service providers a proven cloud brokerage and automation platform that enables them to offer their infrastructure as-a-service, access 3rd party cloud services and full application lifecycle management. To ensure their ability to gather all relevant usage data and create a correlation between usage, cost and associated customers, Exivity augments the Morpheus capabilities by a “single bill of IT” where all consumption data is collected, aggregated, visualized, and distributed to any given ERP system, thereby providing full financial control. The integration that Morpheus and Exivity have out of the box with each other, as well as to virtually every cloud environment, dramatically speeds up time-to-value.

The journey of FinOps is not only one of tooling but also about tool integration and organizational transformation. A lot of the required services are provided by Exivity directly. However, Exivity focuses first and foremost on providing an outstanding product and works with select partners on their transformation delivery offerings.
